Ratz Fatz in den Kindergarten St. Monika written by the St. Monika
Kindergarten staff, paper, pens
Steps:
The nursery school teacher
meets the children at the computer in the explorer`s lab. The children
explain how a computer is booted and switch it on. They report on previous
experiences and recall the symbols for opening the word-processing program
(blue W) and paint program (pen box).
The nursery school teacher
shows the children a CD-Rom. The children report on any previous experiences
(games...). The nursery school teacher gives further information in necessary
(for example: the CD-Rom can be used to store data, the computer can read it,
you can compare it to the CD that you put into a CD player, games are stored
on it...).
How do you insert a CD-Rom?
The children look for the appropriate drive and insert the CD-Rom. They
describe what they are doing.
The children look at the
pictures that the CD-Rom produces on the screen. The children retell the
experiences of the raven. The nursery school teacher shows them how to scroll
the pictures. The children decide which pictures they want to look at and
take turns in turning the pages.
The children close the
CD-Rom and take it out of the drive. They describe the process of switching
off a computer and shut the PC down.
The children either paint a
picture from the CD-Rom for the manual, or they draw what they had to do in
order to look at the book on the computer.
