Project: „Getting onto the Traces of Television“

 

Starting point: Children are confronted with the medium "television" every day. This often makes them ask how the pictures get onto the screen.

 

The project takes up the childrens’ natural inquisitive attitude and makes holistic, action-oriented learning possible.

Apart from the activities "Building a Laterna Magica" and "Introducing and/or handling a digital camera" which are presented in detail, other activities (e.g. shadow play and “Building a TV set from everyday life materials) can used for preparation and in order to assist a better understanding. The activity "Handling a Camera" may also be used for preparing this project. At the end of the project we cooperated with “Bennohaus in Münster” in making a movie, in which the children became active as "cameraman, reporter or expert". The film was aired on the children channel "ISI" - (TV Münster - open channel).
